Fancy Night 2012

Every Christmas Eve Grandpa Bob treats the family to a VERY fancy night!  Every other year we get to join the fun (since every other year we are with my parents & Figs on Christmas Eve).

This year we went to the Grand Cru.  We were entertained by a live piano that took requests.  It was a super fun evening of family, amazing food (I got lobster stuffed trout!), music and fanciness.

Uncle Robb & Jackson.  Best buds.

Jackson looking handsome.

Lovebirds.

Me & mini me.

Silly girls.

I could kiss that face off somedays!

I can't believe I didn't get a picture of Gram & Grandpa!!  Terrible me!
Thank you Gram & Grandpa for the fabulous evening filled with MANY memories!  We love you!

Grandma & Grandpa's Christmas FUN!

Grandma Norma loves to do something fun for the great grandkids (and grandkids) every year.  We had SO much fun last year at Flipz USA (a gymnastics gym) that we went back again this year.  And as always, the adults have about as much fun as the kids!

Erica leaping from the wall!

Cousins Alexa & Josh jumping from the wall.

Jackson jumping into the foam pit.

Addi practicing her beam skills.

Ashton leaping from the wall.

Jaelyn on the beam.

This seems to be the big hit with the boys.  This year they built a ramp!

Ashton crashing.

A fun cupcake snowman!

A grand treat!

Thanks Grandma & Grandpa!  We always have a great time and you know exactly how to make the kids feel special!  We love you!

Christmas w/ Nana & Papa

Since the Figs were heading to Massachusetts we did Christmas early this year.  It didn't stop us from keeping our traditions.  Mom made her traditional mexican feast (I think it gets better every year!) and we had a great evening.  The kids are getting more excited the older they get and dinner was WAY too LONG and boring for them!  I can remember this SO vividly as a child.  Mom & Dad and Grandpa & Grandma would eat SO SLOWLY and talk and talk and talk.  So, I could feel their pain :)

  Cousins.  And best of buds.

I always love when the kids gather around Grandma & Grandpa.  And always try to snap a shot.

Heather bought mom a picture cover (of the 4 grandkids) for her iphone.
I have to record this moment.  Mom said "This is the BEST present I've EVER gotten!".  If you've ever bought a present for my mom you know how HUGE this statement is.  And Heather will carry this the rest of her life.  Mom is the hardest person to shop for!

Another present of the night!  Hess Helicopter! Very happy boy. Thanks Auntie!

Auntie hit the jackpot with presents this year.  Girl lego's for Addi!  She had the house and car built before we left Nana & Papa's!

Us cousins used to play Wahoo on a board just like this that my grandpa had made YEARS ago (same board that my grandpa had YEARS before I was born).  This year he made boards for all the grandkids.  Favorite gift of the year for me.  And what memories we will make with this board!

I also gave some good gifts this year :)  When you give Parker a great gift you will know it.  When you do not give Parker a good gift... you will know it.  Immediately.  LOVE this boy!

Another great gift... Thanks Nana!  Lap workspace.

Love these two lovebirds.  SO MUCH.  And feel SO blessed to have them near us.  And especially this year... they didn't leave for Florida so we've had them the whole season!

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree...

This is our 3rd annual trip out to Starr Tree Pines to pick & cut down our very own FRESH Christmas Tree.  I love it every year and look forward to it so much.  One of my favorite traditions.

We run to stay warm!

 TOO Big.
It usually takes us a while to pick the perfect one out... this year took even longer.  We might have "settled" and we get it home and set up and it is VERY imperfect.  Just like us.
We can't get a small one to save our life.  They look SO much smaller out in the field!

You woulda thought we walked MILES!

Saved by the tractor!!

Love.

Thanksgiving in Colorado!

Our annual trip with my family turned from beach to snow this year.  Instead of a warm setting we chose to get the kids on the slopes!  So, we headed to the same place Heather & I learned to ski- Winter Park.  We found an amazing 4 bedroom condo.  The kids had their own bedroom with 2 bunk beds and each couple and a beautiful room and the kitchen and living spaces were also fabulous!  We hit the jackpot on locations too.  We were in the village right at the base- ski rental, Starbucks, mexican cantina and the ski lifts!

Within an hour of driving into Winter Park we knew something was wrong with Addison.  We get into the condo and all the kids are racing around the new place and Addison is shivering in our bedroom under all the covers.  Her fever spiked to 102+ whenever she wasn't on medicine.  Mom gladly accepted snuggling in the condo with her the next day.  By Wednesday Addi was begging to get OUT and BOTH Fig boys had come down with it on Tuesday evening.  On Wednesday Heather & Phil took the boys (and Addi in tow) to confirm what we thought- they had the flu/influenza.  They got on medicine that day but the Dr. said it would be too late for Addison.  Jackson was the lucky one that never got it! Both Heather & I waited till we got home :)

We still managed to have a great week.  Thanks to Mom who took many turns with the sick kids in the condo.  And I'm not sure Heather & I could have made it a whole day of falling on our butts anyway!

First day of ski school!  These boys did awesome!

First day of board school!  We did awesome!! :)  This is my 3rd time taking snowboard lessons and it FINALLY took!  I wasn't in bed in the fetal position the next day! We were right across the magic carpet from our kids snowboard school :) Hilarious!

Boys & boards.

Winter Park beauty.  Yes, this is us riding the lift DOWN- probably with our board school!

First day success picture.

Jackson & Daddy headed up the lift.

Phil & Heather

You ride the lift A LOT when there are only 2 runs open.

Addi FINALLY out of the condo!

Jackson

Our whole family together on the lift!  (Unfortunately, she didn't last long and her fever came back :( )

The boys.

A lot of our week looked like this.

TURKEY!
This was my only MUST to planning a vacation during Thanksgiving.  We had to have a sit down, homemade Thanksgiving dinner.  I did back down on the rule that no one could ski this day.. we were running out of days with all the sickness!  Addi was in ski school all day!  And I couldn't keep dad off the slopes. The first Thanksgiving dinner I've made every dish.  I loved the day of cooking in a beautiful kitchen.  Not sure why we are using halloween napkins at Thanksgiving... :)

CUTIE!!

Crouch kids ready to hit the mountain.
